In exactly three months the streets of New York with be flooded with runners, family, friends, and volunteers gathered together for the 2017 TCS New York City Marathon. Basically, I have twelve short weeks until I go through with one of the craziest things I will ever do.
I sat down a few days ago and realized that I’ve learned a lot over the last 30ish days. Its easy to just keep moving forward without thinking twice about the past month, but I think its important to take a moment and reflect. So let’s look back, shall we?
As some of you know, a few weeks ago I signed up for Under Armour’s You Vs. Year challenge. The goal? Run 600 miles by midnight on December 31st 2016. I wouldn’t call myself a runner. When I picture runners I think of super athletic people who eat kale for fun, only wear workout clothes and always have some weird-looking health shake in their hand. It’s like they’re ready to drop everything at a moment’s notice and go on a 10-mile run no matter where they are.
